About Us

Who we are:

Saratoga Foundation for Innovative Learning (SFIL) is a non-profit organization, comprised of parents, educators, and community leaders that share a common goal of fostering forward-thinking and creative opportunities in the Saratoga Springs City School District. SFIL believes that innovative learning brings together creative and critical thinking to stimulate curiosity and promote divergence – but also understands the complexity of finding the assets needed to support and promote creative and sustainable initiatives within the modern classroom.

SFIL’s mission is to raise funds and distribute grants for programs and projects that extend the central mission of the Saratoga Springs City School District to promote the idea of innovation. The Foundation challenges administrators, teachers and students to enhance the curriculum already in existence and extend the educational experience. Tools – from iPads to farming equipment to heart rate monitors – can be acquired; the true value of the Foundation is that it helps staff and students to realize true educational opportunities by providing the support to use those tools to think differently.

What we have accomplished:

In just five years, SFIL has proudly awarded 40 grants totaling over $150,000. Grants have included a set of ukuleles and steel drums for Maple Avenue Middle School music students, geocaching equipment for Saratoga Springs High School Physical Education classes, materials for the Saratoga Springs High School Sustainability Park, and the creation of the Geyser Road Elementary School Apple Orchard.

With your support, we can extend these grant opportunities even further.
